EWGA Semi-final Championship Winners Advance to Final Round in Largest U.S. Amateur Women’s Golf Competition

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., August 17, 2011 – Robin Banner, the 2008 and 2009 low net winner of the EWGA Championship was the medalist at this year's EWGA semi-final for the Eastern Midwest area of the Executive Women's Golf Association held on Saturday, August 13 at Cattails at Meadowview in Kingsport, Tennessee. She and the other first place gross and net winners in each flight advance to the final round of the EWGA Championship, considered the largest amateur women's golf competition in the United States.

The 36-hole championship finals will be held at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Desert Willow Golf Club in Palm Desert, California on October 21 -22, 2011. Now in its 16th year, this annual nationwide competition attracts over 2460 participants.

The EWGA Championship begins at the chapter level with members competing in individual stoke play in five flights based on USGA handicaps and a scramble team competition. First place low gross and low net winners in each flight and the winning scramble team advance to one of the 15 semi-final competitions held throughout the United States.

The eight EWGA chapters represented in the Eastern Midwest area include Asheville Area, Central Arkansas, Greater Knoxville, Huntsville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee (Nashville), St. Louis and Tri-Cities of Northeast TN.
