EWGA Foundation Now Accepting Applications for the 2014 Women On Par Scholarship Program

(Palm Beach Gardens, FL, January 16, 2014) – The EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association) Foundation recognizes the importance of education regardless of age. As the creators of a scholarship program known as Women On Par®, the Foundation provides financial assistance to nontraditional female students—women who are thirty years of age and older who are interested in beginning or completing their undergraduate education to allow them to get “on par” with their peers and advance themselves both professionally and personally.

The program was established as an outreach program from the EWGA, the national association of current and aspiring professional businesswomen who share a passion for golf.  Since the program’s inception in 2007, ten women have received scholarships, in six different states. As the New Year begins, the EWGA Foundation announces that their 2014 Women On Par Scholarship Application period is now open.

The EWGA Foundation will be accepting applications until April 15, 2014, or until 200 applications are received, whichever occurs first. There will be two (2) scholarships awarded: One (1) $1,000 Women On Par® scholarship and one (1) $500 Women On Par® scholarship.

EWGA membership is not a requirement to apply or receive a scholarship. Applicants are required to be pursuing a technical/vocational degree, associates or bachelor’s degree and currently enrolled or accepted to enroll in an accredited school, college or university. For complete eligibility requirements and application forms, see www.ewgafoundation.com .

“The ‘Women On Par®’ scholarship program gives a helping hand to those nontraditional “older” students who are looking to pursue their academic dreams,” says Nona Footz, president of the EWGA Foundation. “It’s one of the most important and rewarding programs we have. Helping these women get ‘on par’ is what our Foundation is all about.”
