The EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association) and The First Tee have formed a partnership to promote EWGA member involvement with local chapters of The First Tee. The new partnership will assist The First Tee with their efforts to increase female participation by increasing female role models and mentors at The First Tee chapters.
The partnership will bring together more than 120 EWGA Chapters with 179 The First Tee chapters to promote female role models and mentors and create the opportunity for The First Tee chapters to co-host Girls Golf Days at designated program locations during the month of July.
“This is a great extension of EWGA’s LPGA-USGA Girls Golf support for existing members to volunteer and mentor young girls year-round and especially during EWGA’s Mentoring Month in July,” says EWGA CEO Pam Swensen. “Having female role models as mentors, girls learning and playing the game of golf will know they have a friend both on and off the golf course. This could turn into a lifelong mentoring friendship.”
“I am proud of The First Tee chapters’ efforts to involve girls in the game and while currently 37 percent of chapter participants are female, we intend to increase the number of girls we are reaching in the coming years,” said Kelly Martin, The First Tee’s chief operating officer. “Through this partnership we will connect the efforts of our chapters to EWGA Chapters for the benefit of girls involved in the game of golf.”
The EWGA and LPGA will once again host the second annual Professional Women and Golf Day on Tuesday, April 29 at 12 p.m. at the Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas.
Seating for Teeing Up For Success is limited to 100 participants. To purchase tickets or to learn more about the event, call (214) 282-8874 or visit ntshootout.com

Congratulations Juli Inkster the 2015 United States Solheim Cup team Captain. Juli is the all-time leader in points earned for the U.S. with a 15-12-7 record in nine Solheim Cup appearances. Number 10 should be the charm in bringing the trophy back to the United States. Of course we are partial to her captaincy as her ties to EWGA are strong – as a former EWGA Member-Get-A-Member Honorary Chair.
Hats off to Pat Hurst being named assistant Captain to the 2015 Solheim Cup team.
Stay tuned for EWGA’s 2014 Solheim Cup Experience at St. Leon-Rot golf course in Germany. The venue is located near Heidelberg and only an hour’s drive away from Frankfurt. Details are forth coming. Go Team USA!
