EWGA Foundation
Established in 2003, the EWGA Foundation is 501(c)(3) charitable not-for-profit organization that, as a separate legal entity, is supported by the EWGA and funded through member contributions, donors, and various fundraising activities.
The EWGA Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of women through the game of golf.
The mission of the EWGA Foundation is to create and fund education and leadership programs for women of all ages. The EWGA Foundation is supported by four guiding principles:
The EWGA Foundation exists to:
- Develop educational programs to improve women's leadership abilities, self-esteem and business skills through golf;
- Encourage and enable women to serve as mentors to other women and girls;
- Develop scholarship programs to allow women to pursue educational opportunities; and
- Provide financial support and promote activities designed to support other charitable organizations whose mission supports that of the EWGA Foundation
EWGA Foundation initiatives include:
- Fundraising support of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, a developmental junior golf program that encourages girls from 7 to 17 to learn golf, build friendships and learn to compete in a comfortable environment. In five years, the EWGA Foundation donated over $350,000 to this worthy cause.
- The "Women On Par®" Scholarship Program provides financial support to women 30 years and older who are interested in beginning or completing their undergraduate college education to get ‘on par' with their peers and better themselves.
- "Drive for Dreams" outreach program to share our good fortune with those less fortunate by means of contributing golf equipment and other resources needed to give the gift of golf.
- Financial support to bring speakers with expertise in leadership development training and facilitation to EWGA meetings and gatherings.
- Financial support for the development and refinement of the EWGA Golf Education curriculum.
EWGA Foundation news is shared with EWGA members via the quarterly, EWGA Foundation e-Newsletter called Foundation Links.
